Love

"The Greatest of These is Love"

Hey Everyone!

Today's devotional is going to be focused on love. There are two types of love I want to discuss. The first type of love I want to discuss is God's love.

John 3:16
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life."

1 John 4:10
"This is real love — not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent His Son as a sacrifice for our sins."

Ephesians 1:4
"Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in His eyes."

These are only a few verses that state how much God loves us. He sent His only Son to earth to die for all of our sins. That is the greatest love! God and Jesus' perfect love and grace saved us. If we can accept and remember that God loves us so much, we can live a life filled with His love. Here are some verses on love, a command from God.
Deuteronomy 10:12
"And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in His ways, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul."

Matthew 22:37-39
"And he said to him, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself."

John 13:34-35
"A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another."

These verses are only some of the verses in the bible that command us to love God and one another. In the old testament God commanded Israel to fear him, walk in His ways, serve Him, and LOVE Him! Jesus also said to the Pharisee to love God with all your heart, soul and mind. He also said that it is the greatest commandment, and the second greatest is to love others! Wow! The first & second greatest commandments involve love. To love God and others. If we can love others just as God has loved us and remind them of God's love, our world would be a better place. I would like to state one last verse.

1 Corinthians 13:4-7 ; 13
"Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrong doing, but rejoices with truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. ¹³ So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love."

Finally, love God and love others. Remember how much God loves us. Remember the multiple times that God says to love Him and love others in His word. Make it your goal to show God's love to everyone and to love God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength. Love is eternal. Love is so important. Love is a command from God and a beautiful thing. I hope you can remember to love God, act in love, and how much God loves you.

Love,
Samy
