Singing Through the Storm

Singing Through the Storm

I know I haven't been writing as much devotional as before with school and all, but tonight I would like to write a short, encouraging word. Throughout this first month of school there has been a lot of ups and downs. I have been at the same Christian school my whole life and it is basically my home. I know it front and back with my eyes closed. There is a lot of new administration which means a lot of changes. Sometimes I feel discouraged because of the disorganization and chaos. Now that we are more into the year it has calmed down but one thing after another keeps coming. I am a faculty child as well so I spend countless hours at school every week. It can get very stressful, but I know God has a plan for me. I know that part of his plan is for me to thrive at this school. I know He has it all figured out. I need to trust him and praise him in the storm like Paul and Silas. Here is a link to today's scripture reference.

In Acts 16:25-26 we see Paul and Silas in prison. Even through this tough, unfair situation, they praised and worshipped God instead of complaining and being negative. They trusted that God had a plan and a reason behind everything. They knew that standing up for God's Word and for what is right would not be easy but they still did it. They did it even though the world might shun them, punish them, gossip about them, and hurt them. They knew God's will for their life was to spread His message and help others in His name, so they did exactly that and left the rest up to God. This is not easy but through our trials we need to strive to praise God with a sincere heart, trust Him, and look at the bright side of the situation. Count your blessings, be thankful for them, and praise God through the storm. Here is a verse to remind you of it. Put it on a sticky note, on your white board, on your phone, or anywhere else that you can see and be reminded by it.

Praying for you all!
Love,
Samy
